Pradeep Shahi is a writer director with close to a decade in the film industry, known for bringing the stories of his homeland to the screen with international reach. He began by directing short films, gradually building a name for himself through his portrayal of Gurkha history and heritage. Both of his first two feature films, 1915: The Legend of the Gurkhas and Antim Sanskar: The Last Ritual, released theatrically before going on to stream on Amazon Prime.
Following the Nepal theatrical release of EKLO I, the first part of his trilogy EKLO Verse, Pradeep is now set to bring the best of Nepal to global cinema. His first two films were a war drama and a murder mystery, both showcasing Nepali culture and history. The EKLO Verse marks a bold shift into dystopian sci-fi mythical drama, a genre never before explored in Nepal.
Born in Nepal and now based in the UK, Pradeep brings a genuinely dual perspective to his work, shaped by two cultures, two industries, and two ways of telling a story. He is regarded as one of the rising voices in Nepalese cinema, with a directing style rooted in emotional and intellectual connection. For Pradeep, film is a way of transporting an audience somewhere they haven't been, and his projects consistently reach for themes and characters that challenge as much as they resonate.
Having lived the realities of both Nepal and the UK, he has seen firsthand what cinema can do for a place and its people. That belief now drives the ambition behind his work, taking on increasingly larger projects, opening doors for the next generation of Nepalese filmmakers, and bringing Nepal's stories and its culture to audiences around the world.
We build an independent home for ambitious films.
We carry films from first idea to release.
We write stories that travel beyond borders.
We direct with a clear cinematic point of view.
Genre creates possibility, but character and emotional clarity give a film its lasting power.
The more honestly a story understands its world, the more confidently it can speak to another one.
Ambition is not only size. It is the discipline to make every image, performance and production choice belong to the same vision.
Films can be rooted in one landscape and still connect across borders when their human stakes remain clear.
For collaborations, co-productions, distribution and conversations about the next story. Wherever it is set, we bring the crew, the craft and the point of view to carry it across borders.
